Research Intern
Royal Holloway, University of London
2025-06 – 2025-09
Egham, Surrey, United Kingdom
- As part of the broader INTI project (Incipient Neuromorphic Transputer Initiative), I built an event-driven, asynchronous spiking neural network (SNN) simulator in Rust as an async alternative to a tick-based baseline.
- Modelled leaky integrate-and-fire neurons as independent async tasks, communicating via message-passing channels (bounded & unbounded).
- Integrated the simulator into a Tauri desktop app for real-time visualization & runtime configuration.
- Implemented performance safeguards (sliding-window rendering), optimizing UI for high-frequency updates.
- Added export tooling for offline analysis, and consolidated documentation with Docusaurus.
- This research was during an Undergraduate Research Opportunity Project (UROP) placement.

- Won 1st place with my teammates, at the Google Student AI Hackathon.
- Built RentRight, an AI-powered platform designed to tackle critical issues in the UK rental market.
- Focused on reducing the information imbalance between tenants and landlords by translating complex legal jargon, 'legalese', into actionable guidance.
- Shipped core features including AI-assisted lease understanding, document heatmaps to flag problematic clauses, and context-aware drafting of confident response letters with a history of interactions.
- Led the technical structure, designing a modular system that integrated the frontend with real-time data syncing and Gemini-powered API endpoints for clarity, speed, and adaptability.
